Dance Expressions Adult Class Descriptions
Flow Yoga: This flow class links breath with movement from posture to posture increasing strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination and focus. It is a class for all levels with modifications and options given - students are encouraged to take breaks as needed, beginners are always welcome. Class is designed to be a joyful challenge - come prepared to move and breathe, releasing tension and stress.
Flow Basics: A flow class withfocus on basic foundational postures done at a slower pacewith extra attention given to alignment, breathing techniques and transitioning between postures. Expect to move in a challenging, light-hearted wayin a relaxed environment. Great class for beginners!
Deep Stretch: A class mostly done on the floor in passive held postures targeting tight shoulders, hips, hamstrings, and spine—while muscles will get a good stretch, postures held for several minutes allow the stretch to go deeper into the tendons, ligaments, connective tissue of the body for a deep release, healing and overall feeling of well-being and relax.
ReLax, ReShape, ReNew: Compassionate Yoga for your body, meeting you where you are now, working to bring you to a new level of wellness. Come to increase flexibility, strength and stamina, improve your posture and your breathing. Learn the 10 best Yoga exercises for your body, modifications will be made so that you can practice in a manner that works your body without strain and prevents injury. There will be stretching, laughing and good community energy to lift us all into a better body, mind, spirit place of being.
Tai Chi: An internal martial art known for it’s slow-moving graceful movements combined with slow, deep breathing is practiced for it’s overall health benefits. Expect to develop your strength, flexibility, coordination and focus leading to a state of relax and ease in the body and mind.
Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness program. Zumba exercises include music with fast and slow rhythms, as well as resistance training. Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves. Squats and lunges are also included.
